Hey, I’m Kayla.
Mum of two. Full-time worker from home. Chronically ill. Probably neurodivergent. Permanently winging it.
I’m a mum of two, I work full time from home, and I live with fibromyalgia. One of my children is autistic with ADHD, and I’m pretty sure the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. I have dyslexia and dyspraxia, and I reckon there’s some ADHD and autism in the mix for me too.
So yeah. Life’s a lot.
But here’s the thing. I’ve always been the person who finds a way to make it work. The friend who texts you “don’t buy that, I found it cheaper here” or “try this, it’ll save you twenty minutes.” The one with the spreadsheet, the hack, the shortcut. I figured it was about time I started writing it all down.
Why Calm in the Chaos?
Because life IS chaotic, especially when you’re navigating parenting, work, health, and your own brain all at the same time. There’s no getting around that.
But I’ve learned that the small stuff really does add up. A better way to meal plan. A free app that sorts your budget. A ten-minute habit that stops the week from spiralling. None of it is fancy or complicated. It’s just stuff that works, even on the hard days.
I started this blog because I wanted somewhere to share the things that make my life easier, in case they help you too. No pressure, no judgement, no glossy “I’ve got it all figured out” nonsense. Just real, practical ideas from someone who gets how exhausting it can be, and who’s still figuring it out right alongside you.
What You Can Expect
Honest, practical tips you can actually use, written the way I’d tell a mate over a coffee. I cover everything from budgeting and saving time to keeping things together when it all feels a bit much.
Whether you’re a fellow SEN parent, dealing with chronic illness, juggling neurodivergence, or just trying to get through the week in one piece, you’re welcome here.
If that sounds like your kind of thing, have a read of the blog or sign up for my emails. I’d love to have you along for the ride.
